After each session, I feel like a fully inflated ball, brimming with vitality. As the saying goes, “A group of people can go far together.\" Together, we walk toward the sunlight, toward the people, and toward a healthy self. After walking the path of fighting cancer for ten years, I fell once again into the abyss of terminal illness, with the cancer even spreading to my brain. The doctor’s words, “You\u2019ll be on medication for the rest of your life,\" caused me to break down completely. After calming myself, I learned to temper my character. This painting is a reflection of my current state\u2014feeling the tranquility of moonlight amidst the gray darkness. My heart has gradually become steady, and in the shadows, I see the radiance of love, guiding me to go with the flow, allowing my life to be healed and rejuvenated once more.<\/p>\n

Through faith, I learned to accept and let go. After treatment last year, my condition went into remission. Earlier this year, while traveling in Pingtung, I saw coconut groves and the sea merging with the sky, and a new seed of hope was planted in my heart. Even if my steps are slow, I will walk toward the sunlight every day, striving to realize my vision and scattering “flower rain\" of hope through my actions. Let us encourage one another.<\/p>\n

In the painting, the vast sea symbolizes the fluctuating nature of the illness, the stones represent the hardships of treatment, and the flora at our feet signify vitality. The distant sunlight represents the hope in our hearts. Even amidst the storm, with the companionship and support of family, we can still move forward steadfastly to face every challenge.<\/p>\n

Therefore, I incorporated five symbols into my artwork: the patient momentarily stepping away from the wheelchair and IV drip; headphones and a red heart symbolizing listening; layered papers representing a complex state of mind; mountain ridges symbolizing hope and courage; and three small flowers representing the resilience and joy of life. This is dedicated to cancer patients and the loved ones who accompany them. May you all feel warmth and strength.<\/p>\n

After undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, she often vomited in the hospital, yet she always insisted she was fine. This year, my sister and I took up the pilgrimage path ourselves.
